I shoot the kinds of photos I would like to see on my living room wall. Hopefully, you will want to see some of them on YOUR living room wall too!
I've been shooting since I was seven years old when my father gave me a Kodak Brownie Starflash camera. I developed the first roll of film myself in his home darkroom.
I was finally allowed to start shooting color film shortly after my thirteenth birthday. It was on a wintertime 4-H photography club outing to the snowy Oregon Cascades, and two of the shots on that first Ektachrome roll are still among my favorites.
After all these years I still prefer living and shooting in the mountains, and for most of my life that's exactly where I've been. So far, I have lived in or near the following U.S. mountain ranges...
... and I fully intend to spend the rest of my life living in, visiting, and photographing more mountains. Hence, you can always reach me by sending an email to mountainman.
There are three things you can do here, besides look at the pictures: Download images for your computer's wallpaper; order prints, cards or photo gifts; and buy publication rights. Not all of these choices are available for every photo. Explanation below.
Free downloads are licensed to you solely for use as wallpaper on your computer screen. You may not use them on your blog or any other website, and you may not use them in any publication, including newletters that are internal to your organization. You can license publication rights (see below) for those uses, and I think you'll find the fees to be quite reasonable.
Only images that will fit on the old standard for computer screens (i.e., 4 x 3 aspect ratio) are actually available for downloading. I am working on a solution to include images for the new widescreen standard.
All of my print fulfillment is handled by Shutterfly. When you elect to order a printed item, you will be redirected to their site in a new page to complete your transaction. Unfortunately, they do not handle odd print sizes (such as square or extra-wide) so not all of the images on this site are available for printing.
Choosing to purchase a license for publication will redirect you to Alamy (a photo stock agency) in a new page. Alamy is equipped to handle any request from a single use on a blog or newsletter to worldwide publication rights in print or electronic media. You will find their prices to be very fair.
Unfortunately, Alamy does not accept every image I send them, so not all of the images on this site are available for publication.
No personal information is gathered or stored by this site. The external sites (shutterfly.com and alamy.com) that handle my print and royalty sales do gather certain information; this is covered under their own privacy policies.

The IP address of the computer you use to access this site does get logged in various places, including by the hosting provider who hosts this site. This is part of the nature of how the Internet works, and is beyond my control. If you're paranoid enough to not want your IP address being logged, then you probably shouldn't be using a computer!
